10 FACTS ABOUT WISDOM


1.    The most prominent trial in history was about wisdom. The “trial of the century” in the 4th century B C E in many ways revolved around wisdom. In attempting to defend himself against charges of corruption youth, the philosopher Socrates repeatedly offered definition of wisdom in order to demonstrate that his accusers were singularly unwise.

2. Adversity early in life may enrich one’s Wisdom. Early life adversity seems to be a factor in the later development of wisdom. I would say that moderate stress early in life leads to better emotional resilience later.


3.   Mental practice improves neutral performance in qualities associated with wisdom!
 When you meditate, you change the way your brain confronts problems. Compassion, meditation increases your ability of understanding of the view point of another person.
Which I will say is a key feature of wise behavior.

4.  Many figures traditionally considered to be wise, Socrates, Confucius, the Buddha, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, and Nelson Mandela to mention several prominent examples were considered eccentric or mad, or were persecuted by their contemporaries, suggesting that we don’t always recognize wisdom in our midst.

5. Intelligence is not the same as wisdom. What matters most is not how much knowledge you have but how you use that knowledge.

6. Animals can be wise: - social insects like bees may offer a model of wise social co-operation. They are more together.

7.   King Solomon wasn’t so wise: - we all know the story of King Solomon threatening to chop a baby into 2 to determine the true mother of the child. As the bible makes us clear with Wisdom of Solomon is short lived. He became arrogant, egoistical and God stripped him of his fortune.

8.    Wisdom is a principal thing: - in all what you do make sure you use wisdom because wisdom carries you in all aspect of life. Even the Bible says so: - Wisdom is a principal thing, therefore get wisdom and with all this getting, get understanding (proverb 4:7).

9.  Wisdom that is above pure and peaceable: - Wisdom that comes from God.
10.  Wisdom is what you should possess out of all in the world. When you possess wisdom, you have all.
