The Mass Communication, Political Science, International
Relations and Economics department hope
for accreditation. In an interview with the NUC, the leader of the team Prof. Shehu affirmed that the school have met almost all the necessary requirements that are expected of a standard university in Nigeria. He said “ I can say the school have beaten my imagination and I have actually rated the school 70/100 (70%)”

He (Prof. Shehu) pointed out that the basic
need for the accreditation is to make sure that all higher institution of
learning agree to the required standard of universal education he also said
that the team is looking out for basic things like good lecturer, good lab , confortable
lecture hall, hygienic environment among other. “In all, OUI has really
impressed us” he said
