Human rights watchdog, Amnesty International has accused the Nigerian Army of committing war crimes.
According the report reaching us (OUI Gossipers), the country’s military caused the deaths of 8,000 innocent people in its war against Boko Haram.
The Amnesty International also urged the President, Muhammadu Buhari and the t International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate some senior Nigerian military officers for the alleged war crimes.
The nine officers involved are named below:
- Former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika
- Former Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim
- Current Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh
- Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Kenneth Minimah
- Brig.-Gen. Austin Edokpayi
- Maj. Gen. John Ewansiha
- Maj. Gen. Obida Ethnan
- Maj. Gen. Ahmadu Mohammed
- Brig. Gen. Rufus Bamigboye.
