Samir Nasri of Manchester City has announced to his fans via his Instagram page that he does not expect to play competitively in the next three months.
The 28-year-old picked up an hamstring problem 28 minutes into his side’s 5-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth last month, though initially manager Manuel Pellegrini had hoped for the Frenchman to return to action against Liverpool this
weekend.
Such hopes have, however, been smashed with the former Marseille and Arsenal man announcing that he will not return until February.
“What doesn’t kill you makes you strong. I’ll be back better than ever in three months,” he told his followers on instagram.
This hamstring problem is the latest in the series of issues that have plagued him over the course of 2015. In January he missed out in three games due to a groin problem, while another groin problem prematurely ended his campaign last season.
Finally, as well as the encounter against Jurgen Klopp’s side at the Etihad Stadium, Nasri will also miss, among others, Premier League matches with Arsenal, Everton and Southampton.
