OUI ALUMNI ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION: “WE WILL OCCUPY ALL KEY POSITIONS IN NIGERIA BY 2030” – OTUNBA ISAAC

The President of the newly inaugurated Oduduwa University Alumni Association, Otunba Isaac Olaseni Amao, has revealed that plans are on-going to ensure that all products of the institution occupy key positions in the country by 2030. The agenda which was tagged “VISION 2030” was
revealed in his Presidential speech at the inaugural ceremony of the association hosted at the Agboola Odeyemi hall of Oduduwa University, on Saturday 11th of November.


Otunba Amao, who is a special adviser on media and political affairs to the National chairman of the Labour Party, also revealed projects of the Alumni association to include a 40-million naira Alumni building, an automated system for issuing transcript, scholarship programmes for deserving students among others.

The executive council of the association which consists of 19 members was inaugurated into office by the Senior Special Assistant to Chancellor of OUI, Dr BO Ifonedo.

Principal officers present at the inaugural ceremony were the Registrar; Mrs Adeline Adeyemi, the provost of college of science and technology; Mrs Adenaike, that of the college of Management and Social Sciences; Dr CIN Uche, that of college of Engineering and Architecture; Engr Excellent, the Dean of Students’ Affairs; Dr MKO Alimi, the Alumni Relations Officer; Mrs Oshinowo, a senior lecturer of OUI; Dr Nofiu and a mass communication lecturer; Mr Lateef Adeyemo.

In her address, the Registrar of the institution who was also representing the Vice Chancellor Professor Nwoke at the event, pledged the institution’s support for the association adding that the association has come at the appropriate time and that the school was proud to have produced amazing individuals.

The 19-members of the executive council of the association included Ekwonsa Chinedu as the Vice President, Oseni Karimot who is the Secretary General, Bayonle Moses is the Deputy Secretary General, Alaka Fuhad is the Treasurer, Sikiru Ayomide is the Auditor, Tope Falore is the Financial Secretary, Abiodun Shomoye is the Public Relations Officer with Yinusa Nureni as his assistant, Alohan Pincess is the Director of Welfare/ Events, Boboye Olaolu is the Director of Events, Ayodele Innocent is the Director of ICT while Wilson Uche is the Chief Technical Assistant.
Others included Olatunji Quadri who is the Editor of the Alumni Newsletter with Olufunmilayo Taiwo as his Deputy, Oladele Dada is a member of the board, Molade Miluyi is the Technical Adviser to the Executive council, Femi Babafemi is the Technical Adviser on Skills Acquisition and Oluwafemi Romeo is the Press Secretary to the board.

Meanwhile, members of the executive council paid a courtesy visit to the Chancellor of Oduduwa University, Dr Rahmon Adedoyin on Friday evening, the evening prior to the inaugural ceremony. They were hosted at the Abeni Hall of Hilton Hotels in Parakin, Ile-Ife. Dr Rahmon pledged his support for the association urging the group to contribute its quota to the growth of Oduduwa University. The members also gave a brief profile and stated their planned projects for the school.
